The Ecology and Economics of Balance

Seawater is abundant.  It is 97% of the water on the planet and possibly the only infinite resource on earth.

PelicanThe key to the strength of the Seawater Foundation is exactly that—seawater.  It makes the reliance on fresh water no longer the threat it has always been.  It softens the danger of drought and desertification.  It gives the world a new agriculture, new food sources and a new site specific wealth generation tool. Additionally, Seawater Farms Bahia Kino (SFBK) takes the effluent rich waste water from exisiting shrimp farms and uses it as a resource for all our work.

This seawater combined with sunshine for photosynthesis and human intelligence can green sandy coastlines, bring the promise of entrepreneurial jobs and products and contribute to the health of the planet and the future.

It is the ecology and economics of balance.   We believe that protecting the planet now and into the next century can also provide jobs and salaries—in fact the partnership of the ecology and economics is perhaps the only way for the planet to thrive in this millennium.
